LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's track and field team wraps up the indoor season with the ECAC Championships on Saturday-Sunday at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center. The Bison will send eight athletes to compete in individual events, as well as multiple relays.
"The ECAC Championships has traditionally been a great meet for our athletes to strive for and we have had a lot of success over the years," said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. "It's a championship of the east coast. I believe we have a lot of athletes and relay teams that have a chance to place or even win. It is also a great meet to gain big-meet experience to prepare for the outdoor season."
The top eight finishers in each event will receive All-East honors. The Bison broke four school records and earned 10 All-East accolades last season, including seven by current members of the team.
Two of the Bison's school records at last year's meet came in relays. Jess Bridle, Jen Silvestri and Kim Nagotko all ran legs on the 4x400 team that took fourth. Sarah Chandler, Seline Tan-Torres, Kylie Pearse and Morgan Roche all ran on the 4x800 relay that took eighth.
Nagotko and Silvestri will again run on the 4x400 relay team, where they will be joined by Alison Sharkey and Chrissy Haney. Nagotko will also compete in the 400-meter dash.
Other individuals set to compete this weekend are Roche (1,000m), Katie Jessee (5,000m), Kate Scott (5,000m), Jenna Calandro (pole vault), Efe Agege (triple jump), Abigail Brundage (shot put) and Sophia Nnadi (shot put).
Set to compete in the 4x800 are Emma Harris, Grace Loh, Jamie Kenney and Emma Cousins. The distance medley relay will feature Chandler, Silvestri Reagan Cerney and Christine Bendzinski.
