Men's Golf Improves on Day 2 of Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Paced by a 73 from Daniel Levin, the Bucknell men's golf team improved by one stroke and posted a 301 on Monday in the second round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort. Playing in cool, breezy conditions, the Bison remained in 16th place in a large and talented field of 30 teams.
Levin's 3-over-par 73 was five strokes better than his first-round score. John Edler followed a first-round 73 with a 75. D.J. Magee shot 76 and Peter Scialabba 77. Nick Geissler's 80 was not counted. Edler's 148 total leads the team and puts him in a tie for 43rd place in a field of 158 players.
Maryland and Loyola Maryland are tied for the lead with 36-hole scores of 573. Missouri and Radford are tied for third at 577.
Jamison Randall of Old Dominion is the lone player in the field under par. Randall has the 36-hole individual lead at 1-under 139. Jack Sides of High Point and Ben Wood of Mississippi State are one shot back at even par. P.J. Riner of Loyola Chicago and Bill Gaffney of Youngstown State posted the low rounds of the day with 68s.
The third and final round gets underway Tuesday morning at the River Course at Kingsmill.
