Bucknell Men's Golf Announces Three Recruits for Class of 2019

“Ashton, Connor and Jubal will each, in their own way, make a tremendous impact on our team's future,” said Binney. “Each of them have a demonstrated record of junior golf success, and I expect them each to make a serious impact on our team in the coming fall season and beyond.”
Early, O'Brien and Radvansky will join a young Bucknell squad that currently has eight of its 10 players in their freshman or sophomore seasons.
Below is more information on each of the three recruits:
Jubal Early
Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day
¬Born May 13, 1996 … son of Jubal and Tina Early … has two sisters, Madison and Linton … great-great-great-great-grandfather was the brother of noted Civil War Confederate General Jubal Early … home course is Charlotte Country Club … low round is a 5-under 66 .. runner-up at 2012 ServPro Fall Open in Maryland and 2013 NJGT Stone Bridge Championship … in summer 2014 placed fourth at the Rowan County Championship and T-3rd at Metro Junior Championship, shooting final-round 69s at both events … shot 76-74 at Pinehurst Nos. 4 and 5 and placed T-23rd at the Donald Ross Championship in December 2014.
Coach Binney on Jubal Early: “Jubal is a proven competitor at the junior and amateur levels, having played numerous events throughout the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic Region. Jubal recently posted a top-25 at the nationally recognized Donald Ross Junior Championship at Pinehurst, and I expect him to continue his steady performance when he reaches Bucknell in the fall.”
Connor O'Brien
Rowayton, Conn. /Brien McMahon H.S.
Born July 26, 1997 … parents are John and Amy O'Brien … home course is Oak Hills GC … has twice shot 4-under par in tournament play: a 68 at the Connecticut PGA Championship and 66 in the Metropolitan PGA Future Series … medalist at the 2013 Connecticut Junior Amateur and AJGA Killington Junior Championship … runner-up at 2014 U.S. Challenge Cup Long Island Junior … T-3rd at 2014 Connecticut Junior PGA … T-4th at 2013 MGA Carter Cup … T8th at 2013 Northern Junior … competed in the 2014 AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions and the 2014 FootJoy Invitational … played for Team New England at the 2013 and 2014 John D. Minick Cup and for Team Connecticut at the 2013 and 2014 New England Junior.
Coach Binney on Connor O'Brien: “Connor is an extremely consistent ball-striker, a proven junior competitor, and has an AJGA tournament victory under his belt. With multiple top-10 finishes in AJGA events, Connor's experience at the junior level will serve him well in collegiate golf. In addition to his golf bona fides, Conner is also academically strong, posting outstanding scores on his SATs and ACT; gaining an Academic Merit Scholarship in the process.”
Ashton Radvansky
Houston, Texas/Strake Jesuit College Prep
Born July 26, 1997 … son of Fred and Meg Radvansky … plays out of Sugar Creek CC … low round is 69 … 2014 Houston Golf Association Player of the Year … 2012 Texas State Junior Champion … four-year varsity letterman in high school … played in No. 1 position for three years … earned 2013 and 2014 All-District and All-Region honors … two-time top-three finisher at District Championship and two-time regional qualifier … three-time Academic All-District honoree … 2013 Houston Golf Association TOC Champion and 2014 runner-up … posted seven top-20 finishes in AJGA events … member of South Texas Team at 2012 Jackie Burke Cup … recipient of the Fred Tattersall Award … played in 2013 Champions Tour First Tee Open Pro-Junior at Pebble Beach, where he shot 69 and contributed five birdies and an eagle on Day 1 … also played in the Pro-Junior event at the 2012, 2014 and 2015 Shell Houston Open at Redstone … five-year volunteer with The First Tee of Greater Houston.
Coach Binney on Ashton Radvansky: “Ashton is a strong, physical and consistent ball-striker who has been very successful at the junior level. I expect him to be an immediate impact player here at Bucknell, and I am looking forward to his arrival in Lewisburg this summer. In addition to being a standout on the links, Ashton is a strong student and a leader in the classroom. He should excel in Bucknell's prestigious business management program.”
