LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Patriot League Track and Field Preseason Poll was released on Wednesday and the Bucknell women's track and field team was picked to repeat as indoor champs by the league's coaches and sports information directors.
The Bison women, who've won three of the last four indoor titles, received 156 points and 15 first place votes.
Coming in second is Boston University with 138 points and three first-place points, followed by Lehigh (130), Navy (113), Holy Cross (100), Army West Point (93), Lafayette (68), American (36), Colgate (33) and Loyola (33) to round out the 10-team poll.
Bucknell began the 2015-16 indoor season last weekend with the Bison Opener. The Bison won five individual events, including the 4x400 relay.
Individual winners included senior Jess Bridle (300m), juniors Laura Papili (500m), Seline Tan-Torres (800m) and sophomore Kafilat Oladiran (200m, 60-meter hurdles).
Bridle broke the school record in the 300-meter, crossing the line in 39.75, which bested the time set last season by Kim Nagotko in last year's Bison Opener. She was also apart of the 4x400 relay team with senior Jen Silvestri and juniors Allison Sharkey and Elyse Pettaway that qualified for the ECACs on Saturday with a time of 3:54.84.
The Bison have a month off before their next competition, when they make the short trip to the Penn State Relays on Saturday, Jan. 9.
