LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell landed four players on Field Hockey All-Patriot League Teams, which were announced by the conference on Tuesday. Senior Kiersten Sydnor and junior Anna Wills were voted to the First Team, while junior Amy Mucelli and senior Kayla Sullivan received Second Team recognition. It was the first All-Patriot League accolade for all four players.
Sydnor has been the top offensive player in the league statistically this season. Her league-leading 14 goals are three more than the next closest player, while her 31 points are three more than anyone else in the conference. She ranks sixth on Bucknell's single-season list in both categories, and has climbed to fourth on the career list with 32 goals and seventh with 71 points. Sydnor was one of eight players to be a unanimous selection on the First Team.
Wills has been one of the team's top defenders over the past two seasons, helping Bucknell record nine shutouts during that time. She has also contributed offensively this season with three goals and an assist, while serving as the shooter on the team's penalty corners. She adds her first All-Patriot League selection to the Academic All-Patriot League nod she received as a sophomore last season.
Both Mucelli and Sullivan have proven to be all-around players from their positions in the midfield. Mucelli has one goal and three assists on the year, including an assist on the overtime goal of a win at Temple and an assist in a win at Yale. Her goal came against nationally-ranked Albany. Sullivan has also tallied one goal and three assists, including two helpers in a win over Holy Cross. She also had an assist in a win over Lehigh, while her goal came against nationally-ranked Princeton.
Bucknell has had 35 players make All-Patriot League Teams since Jeremy Cook took over the program in 2008. The Bison have had at least four honorees in each of his eight seasons as the head coach.
The Bison enter the Patriot League Championship as the No. 4 seed and will play at top-seeded Boston University in the semifinals on Friday at 11 a.m.
