Men's Cross Country Takes 24th at Lehigh's Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Bucknell men's cross country team finished 24th of 39 teams in the Brown race of Lehigh's Paul Short Run on Friday. The Bison's top five runners amounted to 648 points. Shippensburg won the event with 57, while Columbia was the runner-up with 81.
The Paul Short Run was the first of two events for Bucknell this weekend. The Bison sent their top 10 runners to race at the Greater Louisville Classic, which is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start on Saturday. It will be their first ever appearance at the Classic, which features five nationally-ranked schools in the 28-team field.
Senior Andrew Kuchta was Bucknell's top runner on Friday, taking 102nd in the 353-runner field with a time of 24:56. The 8k race was won by Charlie Marquardt, a senior at Haverford, in 24:56. He finished five seconds ahead of runner-up Kieran Sutton, a junior at Shippensburg.
All five of Bucknell's scored runners finished in the top half of the large field. Sophomore Kyle Adams was 110th, and junior Matthew Taddeo took 125th. They were followed by junior Jordan Jackson in 150th and senior Cole Conte in 161st.
