NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team closed the dual meet portion of its season Sunday with a dual meet against Wagner at Columbia and posted a 134-109 victory. The Bison, who have an invitational next Saturday, improved to 7-4 on the year, while the Seahawks fell to 8-2-1.
Freshman Dani Potis won the 500 and 1,000 free and Tara Boyle swept both boards as Bucknell earned first-place finishes in seven of the 13 events one day after the Bison defeated Lehigh at home.
Potis was the only Bison to finish in the top three of both the 500 and 1,000 free. She won the 500 by 6.65 seconds and was more than eight seconds ahead of the runner-up in the 1,000.
Boyle swept the diving events for the second time this season, scoring a season-high 265.50 off the three-meter board. Tori Molchany was second off the one-meter, while Katie Hetherington was second off the three-meter.
Lauren Perry and Emma Levendoski had wins in the meet as well. Perry was first in the 200 free, touching the wall 1.69 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer. She was also the team's top finisher in the 100 free, finishing second. Levendoski won the 200 backstroke by 5.70 seconds over teammate Alanna Nawrocki.
Bucknell's other win came from the 200 free relay of Rachel McGoff, Maddi Marcheskie, Julianna Foss and Levendoski.
Bucknell has just one more meet this season prior to the Patriot League Championships and that is next Saturday, Jan. 31, when it hosts the Bison Invite at 10:30 a.m. in Kinney Natatorium.
