LEWISBURG, Pa. – Dani Potis won two events and Lauren Perry captured one to lead the Bucknell women's swimming and diving team Saturday at the regular-season-ending Bison Invite. The meet had nine teams competing and was not scored.
Potis touched the wall first in the 200 fly and the 200 free. She was the only Bison in the 12-person 200 fly field and led a deep group of Bucknell swimmers in the 200 free. Lyndsey Marcheskie joined her in the top five of the 200 free, while Laureana Zrada, Emily Andrews, Alanna Nawrocki and Paige Daniel were all in the top half of the 38-swimmer field.
Perry's win came in the 500 free. She was one of three Bison in the top 10 of the race with Julianna Foss placing fourth and Amber McDonnell placing eighth.
Bucknell had a number of additional strong performances as Leah Bloodgood (2nd) and McDonnell (4th) were in the top five of the 200 breast and Nawrocki placed fourth in the 200 IM. Ashley Henderson was the top Bison finisher in two events, placing third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 100 fly.
Two relays were contested on Saturday and the Bison won the 200 medley relay by nearly three seconds over second-place Seton Hall. The Bison winning group was Emma Levendoski, Henderson, Maddie Marcheskie and Perry.
Bucknell's top diving performances came from Tori Molchany (6th off one-meter) and Tally Ford (9th off three-meter).
Bucknell will now gear up for the Patriot League Championships, which will take place Feb. 18-21 at Kinney Natatorium.
