ITHACA, N.Y. -- Bucknell freshman Daniel Levin wrapped up the best tournament showing of his young career with a 4-over-par 75 on Sunday, putting him into a tie for fifth place individually at the Cornell Invitational. Sophomore D.J. Magee turned in the team's low round of the day with a 74, and the Bison closed with a 305 team score to finish in 12th place.
Levin shot 73-76 on Saturday, and his 11-over total of 224 left him in a five-way tie for fifth place out of 78 competitors. Blake Carter of Longwood was the medalist with a 5-over 218. Kieran Purcell of Delaware carded a 69 on Sunday but finished one shot behind Carter.
Dartmouth held off fast-charging Delaware and Penn for the team title. The Big Green, who also won the Bucknell Invitational last week, finished with a 904 total for 54 holes. Delaware and Penn were just one back at 905.
The Bison started the day in 12th place, and the 305 was their best of the weekend. Bucknell finished four strokes behind Siena for 11th.
Magee's 74 was his second-best score of the fall and tied for seventh-best in the field on Sunday. Peter Scialabba finished the weekend with a 77. John Edler, who had one of the seven eagles in the tournament, closed with a 79. Nick Geissler added an 82.
The Bison will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at the Columbia Invitational at the Tuxedo Club.
