ITHACA, N.Y. -- Freshman Daniel Levin is tied for 10th place after rounds of 73 and 76, and sophomore John Edler also produced two scores in the 70s to lead the Bucknell men's golf team on day one of the Cornell Invitational on Saturday. As a team, the Bison are in 12th place with a 623 total (308-315).
Levin opened with a career-best, 1-over-par 73, and then followed it with a 76. His 149 total puts him six shots off the individual lead held by Longwood's Blake Carter, who shot 73-70 on Saturday. Edler is tied for 28th after posting rounds of 75-78.
Also for Bucknell, Peter Scialabba carded a pair of 80s, D.J. Magee shot 80-81, and Nick Geissler shot 84-89 in his first action of the season.
Dartmouth, which won the Bucknell Invitational last week, put up rounds of 298 and 300 to grab a narrow one-stroke lead over Drexel at the 36-hole post. Longwood is third at 604, and Penn and Fordham are tied for fourth at 607.
The third and final round gets underway Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Robert Trent Jones G.C.
