Men's Golf Finishes 4th at Binghamton Invitational; Scialabba & Edler in Top-10

APALACHIN, N.Y. -- The Bucknell men's golf team finished off a solid showing at the Binghamton Invitational on Monday, posting a 299 team score to move up one spot to a fourth-place finish out of 16 teams at the Links of Hiawatha Landing. Sophomore John Edler posted his second straight even-par 72, and he joined senior Peter Scialabba in a tie for sixth place on the individual leaderboard.
Scialabba fired a 5-under 67 on Sunday and was the individual leader coming into Monday's final round. He finished with a 77, good for a 36-hole total of 144. Scialabba and Edler finished just three shots behind the winner, Kyle Wambold of Binghamton, who posted a 3-under 141.
After a first-round 81, sophomore D.J. Magee bounced back with a 74 on Monday. Freshman Daniel Levin shot 76 and sophomore Zachary Melnick finished with a 78.
Host Binghamton closed with a 290 and came from behind to beat out first-round leader Delaware by three shots for the team title. Binghamton finished with a 576 total for 36 holes, followed by the Blue Hens at 579, Robert Morris at 584 and Bucknell 589. The Bison jumped over Hofstra, which ended up in fifth at 592.
Bucknell will be back in action on Oct. 18-19 at the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley CC.
