Women's Golf Improves in Round 2 of Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's golf team improved upon its first-round score by 19 strokes with a second-round 321 on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The Bison were led by a 76 from Emily Larson and a 78 from Callie Nelson, and they stand in 14th place entering Sunday's final round.
Bucknell also counted an 83 from Nicole Mischler and an 84 from Jen Lee on a cool, breezy day at the Penn State Blue Course.
Columbia posted a 301 on Saturday and took over the team lead by one stroke over first-round leader Yale. Harvard and Western Michigan are also within five shots of the lead.
Penn State's Ariana Coyle, playing as an individual this week, is 3-under for the tournament and is closing in on medalist honors. She has a six-stroke lead over four players at +3.
The final round gets underway Sunday morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
