PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team hit the road for the first time in 2014-15 on Saturday as it competed at Pittsburgh. The Bison lost to the Panthers by a 195-100 score, but there were some bright spots, including two wins by Emma Levendoski and a pair of program top-10 diving marks by freshman Tally Ford.
Levendoski continued the success in the backstroke events she has experienced throughout her career as she won both the 100 and 200 back. Ashley Henderson was the next Bison finisher in both, placing fourth in the 100 and third in the 200.
Ford now ranks 10th in school history off both boards after Saturday's performance. She placed fifth off the one-meter board with a score of 229.65 and was a team-best fourth off the three-meter with a 220.50.
Freshman Julianna Foss (100 fly) and sophomore Amber McDonnell (200 fly) registered Bucknell's two runner-up finishes in the meet, while Henderson officially won the 200 IM with Pittsburgh swimming the event exhibition.
Rachel McGoff was the top Bison finisher in both the 50 free and 100 free, while Gina Gautieri was the first Bucknell swimmer to touch the wall in the 100 and 200 breast.
The Bison will be idle next weekend before returning home Nov. 8 for a quad meet against American, Lafayette and Navy.
