KETTERING, Ohio -- The Bison women's golf team moved up two spots and finished in 10th place at the Dayton Fall Invitational on Tuesday at NCR Country Club. Led by a season-best 79 from Emily Timmons, Bucknell closed with a 322 team score and passed Chicago State and Illinois-Chicago in the standings.
Timmons' 79 was also the low round of the week for the Bison contingent, coming on the heels of a first-round 84. Jen Lee (82-80), Emily Larson (80-82) and Callie Nelson (81-81) all finished at 162 for the tournament.
With a 649 total, the Bison finished two spots ahead of Valparaiso and Chicago State. Led by medalist Jenna Peters, Butler took home the team title with a 604 composite. Oakland was runner-up, six shots off the pace.
Peters posted 2-over-par 72s in both rounds and held off Oakland's Elle Nichols by just one stroke.
This was the final fall competition for the Bison, who will next be in tournament action on March 1-3 at the Edwin Watts Kiawah Classic.
