BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Freshman Daniel Levin carded a 76 for his third career top-10 finish, and the Bucknell men's golf team placed ninth at the Lehigh Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at Saucon Valley CC.
With chilly, breezy condidtions driving up scores, the Bison closed the 36-hole tournament with a 329 team score after opening with a 314 on Saturday. Levin was Bucknell's low man both days with rounds of 75 and 79. That was good for a T-8th finish in a field of 66 players.
Levin was the only Bison to break 80 on Sunday. Sophomores John Edler and D.J. Magee both shot 82, and freshmen C.J. Zachary and J.B. Thompson both shot 86.
Towson was the runaway winner with a 36-hole total of 602. Rutgers was second at 621. After posting a 1-under 71 on Saturday, Towson's John Hulede shot 77 on Sunday and held on to win medalist honors by just one stroke over Ben Alcorn of Fordham and Zach Egermayer of Villanova. Alcorn closed with a 69, which was the low round of the day by five shots.
The Bison will wrap up their fall season on Nov. 1-2 at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in North Carolina.
