Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats George Washington, Falls to Boston U.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team hosted Boston U. and George Washington Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium and came out with a 1-1 record. The Bison defeated George Washington by a 184-115 margin and fell to Boston U. 198-102 in the double dual. The Terriers came away with a 2-0 record as they downed the Colonials 226-73.
Boston U. claimed first place in 13 of the 16 events, while George Washington had two victories and Bucknell one. Emma Levendoski (100 back) posted the victory for the Bison, winning the 100 backstroke by 1.53 seconds. She also placed second in the 200 back and was part of Bucknell's top relays in the 200 medley relay (3rd) and 400 free relay (2nd).
Ashley Henderson had a solid meet for the Bison, placing second in the 100 breast and 200 IM and third in the 200 breast. Bucknell was strong overall in the 100 breast as Henderson, Diana Hanson and Leah Bloodgood finished 2-3-4. Bloodgood, Henderson and Gina Gautieri went 2-3-4 in the 200 breast.
Freshman Julianna Foss was Bucknell's top finisher in the 100 and 200 fly, while Lauren Perry led the way in the 100 and 200 free with top-five placings.
Paige Daniel (5th in 1,000 free), Maddi Marcheskie (4th in 50 free) and Alanna Nawrocki (6th in 500 free) were the other top Bison finishers in swimming events. Katie Hetherington (2nd off one-meter) and Tara Boyle (3rd off three-meter) had Bucknell's top showings in diving.
Bucknell will hit the road for the first time this year next Saturday, Oct. 25, when it travels to Pittsburgh for a non-league dual meet.
