Nick Bybel, Octavio Canibe, Maxwell Kane and Daniel Wright will travel to participate in the five-day tournament. This will be the second recent trip to the University of Virginia, as Bucknell competed at the Virginia Fall Classic in Charlottesville two weeks ago.
Bybel will partake in the main draw in singles play. He goes into this tournament with a singles season record of 14-1.
Freshmen Kane and Wright are excited to be invited to their first Regional tournament, and will participate in the qualifying round on Oct. 16.
All four Bison made the cut for the main draw in doubles play. Bybel and Kane will partner up with hopes of improving upon their 9-2 record as a pair. Canibe and Wright have not yet played doubles together, but have a combined 12 wins this season with other partners.
Head coach Craig Schwartz is looking forward to the outcome of this final fall tournament.
“I think this is going to be a good test across the board to see where we are,” Schwartz said. “This tournament has all of the top players in the region competing, including numerous top 50 ranked players. I believe all the hard work we put in over the last few weeks will be pivotal to our success this weekend.”
