Men's Cross Country Tops Bloomsburg with Strong Team Performance

Bloomsburg, Pa. – After an impressive performance by their teammates at the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday afternoon, the rest of the Bucknell men's cross country team made the short trip from campus to Bloomsburg University on Saturday morning to compete in the Husky Invitational. The Bison turned in the top three performances in the race, using a dominant team effort to outrun the Huskies.

Junior Dylan Cowell won the men's 8K race which traversed Bloomsburg's upper campus, posting a time of 27:45. Freshman Luke Giugliano finished just seconds behind, taking second for the Bison in 27:48.5, and his classmate Jonathan Tewodros rounded out the top three, crossing the line in 28:02.6. Sophomore John Westwood (28:15.1), freshman Louis Tobias (28:28.6), sophomore Zachary Moon (28:35.1) and freshman Benjamin Mueller also scored points for Bucknell.

At the end of the day, the Bison claimed the top team spot with 17 points, while the Huskies were second with 46 points.

The Bucknell men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 when the Bison travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational.
