Wilcox Leads Bison Women's Golf in Round 2 of Edwin Watts Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Bridget Wilcox carded a team-best 78 to lead the Bucknell women's golf team in the second of three rounds of the Edwin Watts Kiawah Classic on Monday. The Bison posted a 329 team score on the Oak Point Course and are now in 25th place in a challenging 32-team field.
Wilcox made a birdie and 11 pars, shooting 3-over on both sides on Monday. She parred five of her last six holes and chopped seven strokes off her opening-round score.
Kasha Scott is now the low Bison for the week at 162 as she posted an 80 at Oak Point after shooting 82 at Cougar Point a day earlier. Also for Bucknell on Monday, Emily Timmons posted an 85, Jen Lee shot 86, and Meghan Garanich 95.
Lee and Timmons were Bucknell's top performers in the opening round with a 79 and 80, respectively.
College of Charleston and Campbell continue to wage a tight battle at the top of the team leaderboard. Charleston posted a second-round 304, but Campbell pulled within four shots of the lead with a 299. Richmond also shot 299 and sits in third place, nine strokes behind the Cougars.
Brooke Bellomy of Campbell carded a 4-under 68 on Monday to pull into a three-way tie for the individual lead alongside Tracy Martin of Richmond and Julia Neumann of Charleston. A dozen other players are within five shots of the lead.
The top 18 teams will battle it out for the tournament title in Tuesday's final round at the Cougar Point Course. Bucknell will be back at Oak Point for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
