Women's Golf Tied for Eighth at Rutgers University Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Bucknell women's golf team sits in a solid 8th place of the 16-team field at the Rutgers University Invitational after two rounds at the Rutgers University Golf Course.
Bucknell fired a 321 in round one and improved by 12 strokes in the afternoon with a 309 in round two. Sophia Bardunias is tied for 12th place at 10-over par heading into Sunday's final round. Both Bardunias and Nicole Yun carded a four-over 75 in round two.
Bucknell is tied for eighth with St. John's and sit ahead of Patriot League foes Boston U. (10th) and Lehigh (12th). The Bison are within seven strokes of UAlbany in seventh and 10 strokes behind Quinnipiac and Georgetown in fifth. Rutgers leads the tournament at +30, just three strokes ahead of Penn in second.
After bogeying four of her first five holes, Bardunias finished the remainder of the round with three birdies and finished at six-over. She then carded a four-over 75 in her second round to sit in 12th among the individual field.
Yun carded an 11-over 82 for her first round, but improved by six stroked in the second round with a 75. The junior made two birdies and 11 pars in her second round. Joelle Johnson also improved in her second round. She shot an 82 in the first round before a second-round 78.
Paige Richter sits in 56th place at 20-over par, shooting an 80-82. Katherine Vice carded an 86 in the first round but improved by five strokes with an 81 to finish her day.
Bucknell is back in action for the final round of the Rutgers University Invitational at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
