Women’s Golf Finishes 8th at Rutgers

RESULTS
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Bucknell women's golf team maintained its eighth-place standing in tough scoring conditions on the final day of the Rutgers Invitational on Sunday. On a day when the average score in the field was 81.51, the Bison posted a 321 team score to finish in the middle of the pack in a 16-team field.
Bucknell compiled a 951 total over 54 holes and finished well ahead of Patriot League rivals Lehigh and Boston University, who tied for 11th place at 968. Host Rutgers posted the only sub-300 round on Sunday, a 14-over-par 298, and won the title by 12 shots over runner-up Penn.
Joelle Johnson led the Bison contingent with a final-round 77. Paige Richter followed with a 78, and the team counted a pair of 83s from Sophia Bardunias and Katherine Vice.
Bardunias was the low Bison on the weekend, finishing in a tie for 21st place with a 235 composite (77-75-83).
Seton Hall's Marta Aguilar and Penn's Mi Li topped the leaderboard with 5-over 219 totals. Aguilar's 1-over 72 was the low round in the field on Sunday. Grace Lu and Emily James of Rutgers tied for third at 223.
This was Bucknell's final tuneup before next week's Patriot League Championship. Navy hosts the 54-hole event Friday through Sunday, Apr. 17-19.
