Bucknell Women's Golf Places 9th at Bison Invitational at Paiute

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Kasha Scott carded Bucknell's low round of the tournament with a 78 and Bridget Wilcox fired her second straight 78 on the final day of the Bison Invitational at Paiute on Friday. Bucknell shot 317 as a team and finished in ninth place at its second annual Spring Break tournament in Las Vegas.
Wilcox earned a top-20 finish (T-20th) with her 36-hole total of 156. Scott improved by five strokes from her opening round and totaled 157. Meghan Garanich followed her career-best 77 with an 81 for a 158 total. Also for the Bison on Friday, Emily Timmons shot 82 and Jen Lee posted an 83.
Even though Bucknell shaved one stroke off its opening-round team score, the Bison fell one spot from eighth to ninth place. Northern Illinois jumped them after finishing with a 304.
Nova Southeastern placed all five players in the top 10 in the individual standings and won the team title comfortably over runner-up Old Dominion. Nova compiled a 2-over-par 290 on Friday for a 36-hole total of 586, 15 shots better than ODU's 601.
Southern Utah finished third at 615, followed by Southern Illinois (616), Boise State (622), Northern Illinois (624), Youngstown State (624(, Radford (628), Bucknell (635), Creighton (641), Western Illinois (659), North Dakota (666) and Idaho State (681).
Old Dominion's Samantha Morrell was the medalist after a final-round 69. Her 144 total gave her a two-shot win over Nova's Linnea Johansson.
The Bison will be back in action Apr. 6-7 at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Classic.
