LEWISBURG, Pa. - Rain has canceled Bucknell tennis' midweek match at Bloomsburg. The match will not be rescheduled. Tuesday's cancelation means that the women's squad's next contest will be at the Patriot League Tournament on Friday, April 22 at Annapolis, Md. The men's season is now complete.
Bucknell women's tennis will begin its postseason on Friday as the third seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison are looking for yet another return to the championship round where they have lost to Army each of the last five seasons. Complete pairings and tournament schedule will be announced later this week.
Bucknell men's tennis finished its season 11-8 overall and 3-2 in the Patriot League. As the No. 4 seed, the Bison fell to the No. 1 seed and eventual champion Army in the tournament semifinals.
Several Bison finished their seasons ranked among the leaders in the Bucknell record books. Among them, Mark Malloy (Bronxville, N.Y./Hackley School) will graduate as the third-winningest singles player in school history with a career record of 62-24. He is also sixth in doubles victories (55-36) and tied for third in total victories (117-60). Fellow senior Anton Kovic will also close out his career ranked fifth in doubles wins (58-56) and tied for 12th in total wins (87-109).
