
Bucknell Women's Lax Falls at Lehigh, 19-2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- It was a long day for the Bison women's lacrosse team, which took a 19-2 defeat at Lehigh on Saturday at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Ali Carey registered a goal and an assist and Alyssa DeLorenz made 15 saves in goal, but the Bison fell to 2-7 on the season.
Lehigh (4-4, 1-1) scored three times in the first three minutes of the game and never looked back. Lauren Dykstra led the Mountain Hawks with six goals and two assists. Megan Kelly had four goals and an assist, while Kelly Draper added three goals and three assists.
Lehigh outshot Bucknell 43-6 and won 15 of 23 draws. The Bison struggled to possess the ball, finishing 10-for-22 on clears with 25 total turnovers.
Bucknell's goals came from Carey on a free-position shot midway through the first half, and then from Madison Hurwitz off a Carey assist with 6:42 left in the game. Carey now has 15 goals and 18 points on the season, second on the team in both categories.
DeLorenz, the national leader in total saves, added 15 more to her total and now has 111 in nine games.
Bucknell returns to action on Tuesday at home against Duquesne at 4 p.m.
