LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman men's lacrosse attackman Todd Heritage (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) was named the Susquehanna Valley Limousine Bison Athlete of the Week Monday after a pair of solid games last week. He scored the game-winning overtime goal against Navy and added four more points in a two-goal win at Hobart.
Heritage totaled four goals, two assists and a pair of ground balls against the Mids and the Statesmen.
The week started on a high note as Heritage tallied with 2:40 remaining in the second overtime to send Bucknell to a 12-11 victory over Navy in its Patriot League opener. It was his second goal of the game and staved off a late Mids rally that forced overtime.
Five days later Heritage posted his second straight two-goal outing to help the Bison to an 11-9 victory at Hobart. He scored the first goal of the game and later scored what proved to be the winning tally, extending the Bison lead to 10-8 early in the fourth quarter.
Heritage ranks third on the team with eight goals this season, while his 12 points place him fourth on the squad. He also has four ground balls and one caused turnover while drawing starts in all five games.
Bucknell (4-1) will next be in action Wednesday, March 16, when it hosts Hartford at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium at noon. The Bison have won their last five home games, dating back to 2010.
