BOSTON, Mass. (Charles River) - The Bucknell women's rowing team sent two boats to the 47th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, opening the competition portion of the fall schedule. The Bison lightweight four placed fifth in its event, while the varsity eight was 29th of 37 in the Championship Eights event.
The lightweight four finished its race in 19 minutes, 51.55 seconds, and was the second collegiate crew to cross the finish line, behind only fourth-place Princeton. There were only four collegiate boats in the top 10 as Pittsburgh (7th) and Radcliffe (9th) joined the Bison and Tigers.

The Head of the Charles was the first of two events this fall for the Bison. They will also row at next weekend's Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa.
