Bucknell Women's Golf Opens with 319 at Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. --The Bison women's golf team began play at the Palmetto Invitational at Oak Point Golf Club with a round of 319 on Sunday. Round two was suspended by darkness with just a few holes remaining. Kasha Scott led Bucknell with a 78 in the first round, and Scott is close to wrapping up a very good second round at 3-over with two holes to play.
Also for the Bison in the first round, Lauren Bernard posted a 79, Bridget Wilcox carded an 80, Minjoo Lee shot 82 and Brittany Rendell 83.
In her second round, Scott is 1-under on the front nine with just holes No. 7 and 8 left to play. Lee is also doing well in the second round. She is even-par on the front and +5 for the round. Wilcox is +6 and Bernard +7, while Rendell has finished her second round with an 81.
This is a star-studded field at Oak Point, with three teams scoring in the 200s in the first round. UNC Greensboro has a seven-stroke lead over Campbell, with Maryland and College of Charleston 13 shots off the lead.
Bucknell is in 16th place, seven shots behind 15th-place Kansas and eight behind William & Mary.
The teams will complete their second rounds on Monday at 8:45 a.m., followed by the regularly scheduled third round.
