LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the second time this season, Bucknell women's basketball's Lindsay Horbatuck (Avon, Conn./Avon) was named the Patriot League/Anaconda Rookie of the Week on Monday. Horbatuck averaged 7.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game last week for the Bison.
Horbatuck tied her career high with 10 rebounds against American last Wednesday. It was the second consecutive game in which she had reached the double-digit mark after posting 10 against Navy just days earlier. The freshman forward filled the stat sheet against the Eagles. She also finished the game with four points, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
Against Holy Cross on Saturday, Horbatuck shared the team lead in boards with eight. She also tallied her second career game in double-digit scoring with 10 points against the Crusaders. Defensively, Horbatuck finished with one steal, giving her a team-best 31 on the season, and one block.
Horbatuck is third on the team in rebounding (4.6 rpg) this season having just surpassed the century mark with 101 boards. She also ranks among the Patriot League's leaders in rebounds and steals.
Horbatuck also earned the league's top rookie honor on Dec. 14 after posting a career-high 13 points and tying what was then her personal best in rebounds with six at Towson.
Bucknell is 7-16 overall and 3-7 in the Patriot League. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 17 when it travels to Lafayette for a 7 p.m. tipoff in Easton, Pa.
