Bucknell Men's Golf Concludes Play at Richmond Intercollegiate

RICHMOND, Va. - J.J. Szmadzinski (Northville, Mich./Detroit Central Catholic) shot a 1-over-par 73 to lead Bucknell on the final day of the Richmond Intercollegiate at Independence Golf Club. The Bison posted a 308 team score and finished in 11th place.
Szmadzinski shot 223 for the 54-hole event and finished tied for 29th individually. Senior Andrew Wallisch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) closed with a 77 on Tuesday, while the freshman trio of Thomas Walter (Darien, Conn./Woodberry Forest), Billy Wright (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) and Matt Haller (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) shot 77-81-92, respectively.
Host Richomond won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 855. That was four shots better than runner-up James Madison and nine ahead of third-place Longwood. Ian McConnell of Liberty shot a 7-under 209 to win the individual title by two over Sam Beach of Richmond.
Bucknell will be back in action Nov. 1-2 at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.
