LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's basketball's Trisha Krewson (Sandusky, Ohio/Perkins) was named the Patriot League/Anaconda Player of the Week on Monday, a day after she recorded her second consecutive game with more than 20 points. In the last week of play, the guard averaged 27.5 points with a .633 shooting percentage and set a number of program and season records.
Krewson's outstanding week started with a record-breaking performance against Lycoming on Dec. 30. The Ohio native became the first Bison since Desire Almind in 2004 to score 30 points in a game. She reached the total by shooting 8-for-12 from three-point distance. Her eight made three pointers tied a Bucknell record, set in 2002 by Molly Creamer, the program's all-time leading scorer. It also doubled the Sojka Pavilion mark and ranks fourth nationally.
Building on her 10-for-16 shooting night against Lycoming, Krewson tallied 25 points just days later at Buffalo. She again had an impressive night from behind the arc, finishing 7-for-11 and earning the best two-game total for three pointers made in program history. Krewson's seven three-point shots ranks in a tie for 16th nationally. Had it not been her earlier performance against Lycoming, Krewson's point total and three-point field goal marks would have also been career highs.
Krewson finished the week shooting. 633 (19-30) from the field and .652 (15-23) from three-point distance. She also shot 2-for-2 from the free throw line against Lycoming. Krewson totaled five rebounds, five assists and two steals as well.
Krewson is averaging 10.3 points, which ranks third on the team, and 2.0 rebounds in her sophomore campaign. Her .432 shooting percentage ranks among the best on the team, while her .429 three-point mark ranks first.
The Player of the Week honor is the first of Krewson's career, although she was recognized several times last year as a freshman. Krewson was voted the Patriot League Rookie of the Year after twice earning rookie of the week accolades. She is also a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Bucknell is back in action on Wednesday to close out its non-conference schedule. The Bison will try to improve their record to 4-9 as they take on Cornell at 7 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y.
