Happy Halloween from the Bucknell Women's Lacrosse team!
Halloween to our team means so much more than just candy, scary stories, spooky decorations, pumpkins, witches, cobwebs, creepy candles, ghosts, and goblins ... part of Halloween to us means the BU Lax Halloween Costume Competition 2009!!!
Every year, a few days before actual Halloween, our team has a wonderful Halloween dinner at our coach's house to kick off celebrating the spooky holiday around the corner and to show our creative, artistic, and imaginative skills as laxer players with our annual Halloween Costume Competition! Believe me, it's competitive, ridiculously hilarious, and the pictures last a lifetime!
Each class (Freshman, Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors) competes against each other and orient their costumes around the number of people they have in their class, the accessibility to necessary materials to make the outfit complete, the time it will take to complete the task, etc. All in all, the more detailed, eccentric, crazy, unique the costumes are... the better! For instance, the winners of the 2009 Halloween Competition were the fabulous seniors, class of 2010! As a member of the victorious senior class, our decision to dress up as the Jackson Five could not have been better, more easy, or more fun!
The best part is watching each class walk into coach's house in their costumes ... or better yet, eating dinner while sitting next to or across from a teammate dressed as coach, a teammate in a wedding dress, or a teammate covered in dirt pretending she's from survivor ... the laughs never stop coming, the jokes never fail, and the night is always remembered!
