Bucknell Track and Field Sends Five Athletes to NCAA East Regional This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams will have five qualifiers competing at the NCAA East Regional Championships this weekend, May 30-31, at Florida State University. The group of Bison competing in the event include senior Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) and freshman Laura Rycek (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) in the javelin, senior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) in the discus throw, junior Kevin Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) in the 400-meter hurdles and junior Kerry Boyle (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) in the 400-meter dash.
"We have five athletes who qualified for the NCAA regional," said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. "It is quite an honor to be competing in one of the best meets in the country. The top five in every event will automatically qualify for the NCAA National Championships. All five of these athletes are in a position to do so if they are on the top of their game this weekend."
