LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams are scheduled to travel to Annapolis, Md., this weekend, May 2-3, for the 2008 Outdoor Patriot League Championships, hosted by Navy.
As the Bison women will be going for their fifth consecutive outdoor league title, Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner notes that, "This has the potential to be one of the closest and most exciting league meets ever. Lafayette seems to be the favorite on paper and Army has really improved since the indoor season."
Coach Donner adds that, "We have been battling the injury bug a bit, however everyone else in the league has their own little issues as well. League Championships never go as planned and the team that has the fewest errors as well as the team that has a few surprise people step up will probably win the meet."
The Bison are coming off a win at this year's Patriot League Indoor Championships, which were hosted by Bucknell. The Orange and Blue won its seventh consecutive indoor title and 12th indoor title overall. Additionally, following the indoor championships, Bucknell was picked first in the Patriot League Outdoor Preseason Poll, released on March 20.
A complete schedule of events and results following each day of competition can be found at the 2008 Patriot League Outdoor Championships homepage. Results will also be posted on BucknellBison.com on both Friday and Saturday.
