Bucknell Track and Field Closes Out Competition at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the prestigious three-day Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Sophomore Kyle Anthony (Barryville, N.Y./Eldred Central) highlighted Day Three, taking 15th in the eastern college division of the triple jump with a distance of 45-9.
On Day Two, Bucknell's men's men's 4x400 relay team ran in the Wetzler/Pennsylvania division, taking first place. The Bison men ran an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:15.17 to win the event. The time is also the third-fastest in Buckell history.
Highlighting the first day of competition on Thursday, senior Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) posted an NCAA East Regional standard of 148-1 for eighth place in the championship division of the javelin throw, while junior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) placed eighth with an ECAC-qualifying distance of 141-0 in the college division of the discus throw. Additionally, freshman Sarah Moniz (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Regional) ran a career-best time of 10:03.62, which is also the fifth-fastest in Bucknell history, in the championship division of the 3,000-meter run.
The Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams are now set to travel to Annapolis, Md., this weekend, May 2-4 for the 2008 Patriot League Outdoor Championships.
