RALEIGH, N.C.- Bucknell men's track & field finished the second day of the Raleigh Relays with two solid performances by thrower Wade Shomper and triple CJ Simbiri. High jumper Jeffrey Cianfrocca also competed.Â

"I thought the discus went very well," said head coach Kevin Donner. "Shomper was very solid. Simbiri had a solid opener in the triple jump. Although Cianfrocca did not get a mark, he did have some nice attempts and will learn from this experience."Â
Simbiri, who earned silver in the triple jump at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, kept his positive charge flowing with a 21st place finish. He grew stronger as the meet progressed with his best attempt of 47-5.75 arriving during his final attempt.
Shomper, one day after resetting the school record in the shot put, attempted his hand at the discus throw. While he did not reach his lofty shot put status, the Bison senior displayed good form and encouraging early season results with his 26th place finish. His first attempt of 45.92m (150-8) was his best. Shomper's second attempt flew 42.96m (140-11). His day ended on a foul.Â
Cianfrocca, who also won silver, except his medal came in the high jump, at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, tried to maintain his momentum but unfortunately failed to clear the 6-5 bar in three attempts after receiving a bye for the 6-3.25 clearance.Â
The Bison men finish their Raleigh Relays expedition tomorrow with Braiden Pulver and Aiden Tacker competing in the hammer throw.Â
