LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's track and field senior Erin Cranmer-Hart (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) and men's swimming and diving sophomore Luke Trafton (Bath, Maine/Morse) were named the Damon's Bison Athletes of the Week on Monday for their Patriot League championship performances this past weekend. The Bison women's track and field team won its seventh consecutive Patriot League indoor title, its 12th overall, while Bucknell's men's swimming and diving team took home a runner-up trophy for the squad's best Patriot League finish since 2004.
Cranmer-Hart, who earned two first team all-league selections, was the Patriot League champion in the mile, finishing first with a time of five minutes, 4.84 seconds. She also anchored the distance medley relay team that took first place with a time of 12:16.33. Additionally, Cranmer-Hart was one of three Bison to score in the 1,000-meter run, placing fourth with a time of 3:02.08. In defending its Patriot League indoor title, Bucknell tied the record for most consecutive Patriot League titles by a women's program. Additionally, the Bison now own the record for most total championships by a women's program.
Trafton set three new school records at the Patriot League Championships last week, winning individual titles in the 500 and 1,650 free. He completed the 1,650 free in a school-record 15:34.89 to capture his second career championship in that event and broke the program's 1,000 free mark along the way with a time of 9:24.17. Trafton posted the top time of 4:28.97 in the 500 free, which was the fastest in school history, as well. He also scored in the 400 IM (sixth, 4:07.28) and logged the sixth-fastest 200 free time in the Bison record book, swimming the lead leg of the 800 free relay in 1:41.68.
