Bucknell's Morgan Wrightson Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's basketball earned its first weekly honor of the season from the Patriot League on Monday when Morgan Wrightson (Gaithersburg, Md./Notre Dame Academy) was voted the Patriot League Baden Rookie of the Week.
Earning Wrightson the award was her strong play at Penn State on Thursday. The freshman guard made her first appearance in the starting lineup against the Lady Lions and played a season-high 31 minutes. During that time, Wrightson scored seven points and tied for the team lead with three assists. She also tallied three rebounds, two of which came on the offensive board.
Wrightson has played in all seven games this season and is averaging more than 18 minutes per contest. She has shot .333 from behind the three-point arc and .667 from the free throw line, ranking her among the best on the team. She also leads all freshmen in assists with nine and scoring with 28 total points on the young season.
After a brief hiatus from the court for final exams, the Bison return to action on Friday, Dec. 19 when they take on Wofford at Sojka Pavilion. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
