More Student-Athlete Journals:
When I was first recruited to play Bison Softball at Bucknell it was just another school on my list. However, by the end of my recruiting period I was very confident in choosing Bucknell as a place I would like to spend the next four years, expanding my softball career while also receiving a top-notch education. I took a few official visits in the fall of my senior year and Bucknell definitely stood out as a top contender. Being from southern California, I welcomed the change Bucknell offered. A big factor that went into choosing a college was the chemistry and feel of the softball team. I knew after spending a day with them that they all loved each other's company and got along so well and I really wanted to be a part of their family.
Now, after committing and spending three months with the team I can comfortably say I bleed Orange and Blue. I have played softball for most of my life, but I never imagined that I would come to have such an intimate relationship with a group of girls who share the same passion. We have already gone through so much together... 6 a.m. lifts, long bus rides, practicing until dark, and team dinners. I already feel so much a part of this team and I haven't even made it through my first year; and I really can't wait to see what the future will bring...besides bigger muscles.
