Bucknell Track and Field Wraps Up Penn State National Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field team closed out the second day of competition at the Penn State National Invitational on Saturday evening, with junior Kerry Boyle (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) setting a new school record in the 400-meter dash.
On the men's side, Boyle ran an IC4A-qualifying time of 47.56 in the 400-meter dash to place third and top his own school record of 47.58, set last season. Also in the 400-meter dash, junior Kevin MacLoed (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) ran a career best and IC4A-qualifying time of 49.00 in the final. He placed eighth and his finish was the second-fastest in Bucknell history.
In the mile, senior Wallace Campbell (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Acad.) ran a career best and IC4A-qualifying time of 4:10.00 to place 11th while sophomore Timothy Medlock (Evan Mills, N.Y./Indian River) threw an IC4A-qualifying distance in the shot put for the fourth time this season. He posted a mark of 51-7 ¼ for 14th.
Sophomore Kyle Ramer (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) placed ninth in the 1,000-meter run with a career best and IC4A-qualifying time of 2:29.44.
Sophomore Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) led Bucknell in the 200-meter dash with a career-best time of 22.66 for 21st, while freshman Guy Castranova (Trenton, N.J./Notre Dame) placed 24th with a season-best time of 22.74.
Other top finishes for the men included freshman John Picardo (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton Central) in the 500-meter dash, running a season-best time of 1:06.55 for 19th while freshman Nicholas Hruch (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) finished in 28th. In the men's 3,000-meter run, sophomore Conor McNamara (Baldwin, N.Y./Chaminade) placed tenth with a season-best time of 8:38.32 while junior Clinton Orloski (Butler, Pa./Slippery Rock) also ran a season-best time of 8:41.93 and placed 13th.
On the women's side, junior Megan Hathaway (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) ran a career-best time in the 500-meter dash of 1:16.40 for sixth, placing her sixth on Bucknell's all-time list for the event. Sophomore Jennifer Pierce (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Northern Highlands) took ninth with a season-best time of 1:17.32 while junior Jenny Dalzell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) also notched a season-best time (1:18.96) for 16th.
Senior Offeibea Hanson-Hall (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) ran a time of 2:16.29 in the 800-meter run to place sixth, while sophomore Allison Janda (Plymouth, Mich./Salem) ran a career-best time of 2:18.10 for ninth.
Senior Erin Cranmer-Hart (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) led the Bison in the women's 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:58.21 for fourth. Senior Victoria Gilbert (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) followed in sixth with her season-best time of 3:00.47.
In the pole vault, freshman Rebecca Frey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) took sixth with a mark of 11-6 ¼.
The Bison are now set to travel to Akron, Ohio next Saturday, Feb. 2, for the Akron Open.
