Bucknell's Gilbert Named Patriot League Track Athlete Of The Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Victoria Gilbert (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) of the Bucknell women's track and field team was named Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week for her finishes at the Bucknell Heptagonal this past Saturday, the league announced Tuesday.
In Bucknell's first scored meet of the 2007-08 indoor season, the Bucknell Heptagonal on Jan. 19, Gilbert helped notch a first-place team finish for the Orange and Blue by picking up one individual win and running in a winning relay. Bucknell tallied 171 points over second-place Duquesne (85 points), third-place Saint Francis (Pa.) (84), fourth-place Shippensburg (77), fifth-place Towson (64), sixth-place Lehigh (49) and seventh-place East Stroudsburg (27).
Gilbert won the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:16.64. Additionally, she ran the second leg for Bucknell's 4x800 relay team that won the event in 9:36.84. Also running in the relay was sophomore Jennifer Pierce (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Northern Highlands), senior Offeibea Hanson-Hall (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) and senior Erin Cranmer-Hart (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area).
Bucknell track and field is set to return to action this weekend, Jan. 25 - 26, sending athletes to both the Bison Open and Multi in Lewisburg, Pa., and to the Penn State National Invitational in University Park, Pa.
