OLEAN, N.Y. -- Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield), one week removed from his first career victory at the Bucknell Invitational, shot a 2-over-par 72 to lead the Bucknell contingent at the Leo Keenan Invitational, hosted by St. Bonaventure. The Bison shot 304 as a team and are tied for eighth place in the 14-team field, with the second and final round still to play on Monday.
Lindgren, who shot 69-70-72 a week ago, is tied for fifth place at St. Bonaventure, three strokes behind leader Tyler Brewington of Rider. Lindgren outlasted Brewington by one shot to win last week.
Brian Poe (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) continued his solid play with a 73, but the Bison had to count a 79 from freshman Andrew Wallisch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and an 80 from Rahul Desai (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford). Bucknell's fifth man, Keita Aoki (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International School), shot 85.
Brewington's 1-under 69 helped Rider take the first-round lead with a team score of 288. Duquesne is one shot back at 289, followed by Long Island (294), Ottawa (295), St. Bonaventure (297), Canisius (297), Cornell (301), Robert Morris (304) and Bucknell (304). Siena (306), Niagara (309), St. Bonaventure "Brown" (311), Saint Francis (316) and La Salle (318) round out the field.
The second round gets underway Monday morning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Bartlett Country Club.
