About the Bison in 2007 -
- Last weekend the Orange & Blue captured the Bucknell Invitational for the third time in the last five years, and they were in complete control throughout the 54-hole event. Backed by a 3-under 67 from Desai, a 1-under 69 from Lindgren and an even-par 70 from Cohen, the Bison opened with a school-record 1-under 279. An afternoon 286 on Friday, paced by Bartow's 69, gave Bucknell a commanding 19-shot lead with 18 holes to play. Even though the team struggled to a 302 in teh final round, the Bison had enough of a cushion to cruise to a nine-shot win over runner-up Temple.
- Lindgren shot 69-70-72 to finish 1-over-par for the tournament and collect his first collegiate victory. He won by one shot over Rider's Tyler Brewington, who shot 72-70-70.
- Bucknell's "Blue" team also fared well, finishing in fourth place with scores of 284-300-300. In that strong opening round, freshman Ben Mattingly (Fishers, Ind./Park Tudor) shot 68 in his very first collegiate round, while Poe and Jeff Pike (Rye, N.Y./Rye) both shot 70. Poe backed it up with rounds of 72 and 71 and tied with Desai for third place in the individual standings. Mattingly tied for eighth with rounds of 68-74-76.
- Desai has the team's low scoring average thus far at 71.6. For full team scoring averages, click HERE.
