LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Patriot League champion Bucknell women's track and field squad landed a league-best 47 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Wednesday. Behind the Bison, Holy Cross posted the next-highest total with 37 honor roll members.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
Recent graduate Melanie Buczko (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) and rising-seniors Courtney Lynch (Glen Mills, Pa./Archmere Academy) and Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) highlighted Bucknell's list of honorees as the trio was among a group of 13 student-athletes who achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs this spring. Last month, Buczko, a civil and environmental engineering major, became the 114th Bison to earn Academic All-America honors. She, along with Rogers, who is majoring in physics, was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, as well.
Elsewhere around the league behind Bucknell and Holy Cross, Lafayette totaled 24 honor roll members, Lehigh 16, Navy 14, American and Colgate 10 and Army nine.
