Final Round of Navy Invitational Canceled, Bucknell Finishes Eighth

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Sunday's final round of the Navy Invitational men's golf tournament was canceled after overnight snow showers whitened the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course. Thus, the event was shortened to 18 holes, giving Bucknell an eighth-place finish in a tightly bunched top 10.
The Bison shot 309 on Saturday, nine shots behind St. Bonaventure, which eventually was declared the team champion after edging Longwood (301) by one stroke.The top nine teams were separated by only 10 strokes.
Penn finished third at 303, followed by Loyola (304), Seton Hall (304), Delaware (305), George Washington (308), Bucknell (309) and Navy (310) in the 25-team field. The Bison posted the highest finish among the five Patriot League teams in the field.
Keita Aoki (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International) posted a team-best 75 on Saturday, leaving him in a tie for 14th place. Charlie Waddell (Wilmette, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) was a shot back at 76, while Kyle Moran (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School) finished with a 77. Also for the Bison, Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) shot 81 and Ryan Schneiter (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) 86.
Kyle Morris of Seton Hall shot a 2-under-par 69 to win the individual title by three strokes.
Bucknell will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday at the Lafayette Invitational, the final event before the Patriot League Championship Apr. 21-22 at the West Point GC.
