Bucknell Track And Field Collects Five Weekly Awards From The Patriot League

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Patriot League announced on Tuesday that senior Catherine Trentacoste (Garden City, N.J./Garden City), juniors David Mante (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) and Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold), along with freshmen Kyle Anthony (Barryville, N.Y./Eldred Acadmey) and Amy Mantush (Drums, Pa./Hazleton), earned weekly honors for their stellar performances at the Bucknell Team Challenge, where both the Bison men's and women's track and field teams finished second this past weekend.
Trentacoste won the Female Track Performer of the Week award for her second- and third-place performance in the 400- and 100-meter hurdles. She ran a time of 14.36 seconds in the 100 hurdles earning her a spot in the ECAC Championships. In the 400, she crossed the line with a time of 1:03.41. Trentacoste, who owns the record in the 100 hurdles at Bucknell, is tied for the top time in the Patriot League this season.
Rogers was tabbed the Female Field Performer of the Week after winning her second straight javelin title this season with a distance of 142 feet, 9 inches (43.53m), which was an NCAA East Regional and ECAC qualifying mark. She owns the school record in the javelin as well as the second-best mark in the league.
Mantush earned her second cosecutive Female Rookie of the Week honor after breaking a nine-year old Bucknell high jump record by clearing a height of 5-7 (1.70m). She qualified for the ECAC Championships and holds down the top stop in the Patriot League. The Drums, Pa., native, also holds the Bucknell indoor high jump record.
Mante picked up his first Male Field Performer of the Week award of the season for his second-place showing in the pole vault of 16-2 (4.95m), which qualified him for the IC4A Championships. His mark lists him second all-time. He also owns the top stop in the league.
Anthony copped Male Rookie of the Week honors for qualifying for two IC4A events at the Bucknell Team Challenge. He posted a first-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 48-7 ¼ (14.81m) and a second-place performance in the long jump with a mark of 23-10 (7.26m). His distance in the long jump ranks him fourth all-time.
Bucknell will compete in the three-day Penn Relays starting on Thursday, Apr. 26, in Philadelphia, Pa. The Bison will also travel to Loretto, Pa., to take part in the Red Flash Open on Saturday, Apr. 28.
