ECAC Honors Bucknell's Christa Sawko

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Christa Sawko (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville), of the Bucknell women's outdoor track and field team, was named the ECAC Co-Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday for her strong performance at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala., this past weekend.
Sawko, who was awarded the Patriot League Female Track Performer of the Week honor on Tuesday, posted a fourth-place showing in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.35. Her time qualified her for the NCAA East Regional and ECAC Championships in May. She currently holds down the top spot in Patriot League.
The Montoursville, Pa., native, owns the Bucknell 800 and 1,500 records with times of 2:08.98 and 4:28.28, respectively.
Sawko and the Bison will host the two-day Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium starting on Friday, Apr. 13, at 3 p.m., starting with the men's 100 decathlon and the women's hammer throw.
