Bucknell's Kevin Donner Named Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year

LEWISBURG, Pa - On Tuesday, head coach Kevin Donner of the Bucknell men's and women's track and field program was named the 2007 NCAA Division I Women's Indoor Track and Field Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year for the second straight season by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Donner, in his sixth season, coached the women to their sixth straight Patriot League Indoor Championship and also received his sixth consecutive Patriot League Coach of the Year honor. This season, he has coached 10 First Team All-Patriot League athletes, two Patriot League meet record holders and 14 ECAC Championship performers. Under his watch, Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) became the second Bison athlete to win an ECAC indoor title. He also coached two NCAA provisional qualifiers in Grap and senior Melanie Buczko (Butler, Pa./Butler Area).
In his career as Bison head coach, Donner has tallied six indoor, four outdoor and three cross country Patriot League Championships titles. He has also collected 14 Coach of the Year awards from the league, including three for women's cross country.
The Bucknell track and field squads will travel to Conway, S.C., to participate in the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational on March 16 and 17.
