Bucknell Men's Golf Finishes 19th at GW Invite

BETHANY BEACH, Del. -- The Bucknell men's golf team struggled in the closing round of the George Washington Invitational on Sunday, managing only one score in the 70s en route to a team total of 320. Chas Wagner (Oakmont, Pa./Hampton) shot a team-best 78 as the Bison finished in 19th place in a 24-team field.
The Bison, who shot 306 in the first round on Saturday, also received an 80 from Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield), 81s from Charlie Waddell (Wilmette, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) and an 86 from Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck).
Penn shot 299 in the final round and 585 overall to win the tournament by three shots over Longwood. Seton Hall (591), Delaware (597) and Yale (597) rounded out the top five.
Seton Hall's Kyle Morris repeated as individual champion, shooting 68-73 to win by one stroke over Mark Matza of Yale.
The Bucknell contingent is now in Williamsburg, Va., where it will participate in the William & Mary Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
