Bucknell Outdoor Track and Field Honored by Patriot League

LEWISBURG, Pa - On Tuesday, the Patriot League recognized Bucknell track and field seniors Nina Reinhardt (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and Catherine Trentacoste (Garden City, N.J./Garden City) along with freshman Steven Pierce (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) for their performances this past weekend at the season-opening Shamrock Invitational on the campus of Coastal Carolina.
Trentacoste earned the Female Track Performer of the Week award after finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles crossing the line with a time of 1 minute, 3.44 seconds. She also placed fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.03. Trentacoste currently holds the school record in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.23, which she set last season.
Reinhardt was tabbed the Female Field Performer of the Week after she jump started her senior campaign with a first-place showing in the heptathlon with 4,581 points. Reinhardt, who holds the program's pentathlon record, currently stands fourth in school history in the heptathlon.
Pierce was named the Male Rookie of the Week after posting a third-place finish in the javelin with a distance of 188 feet, 2 inches (57.35m). His mark now sits him 10th in school history.
The Bison will split up and compete in both the Susquehanna Invitational in Selinsgrove, Pa., and the George Mason Invitational in Fairfax, Va., on Saturday, Mar. 31.
