UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - After day one of competition at the Sykes-Sabok Challenge Cup, the Bucknell women's indoor track and field team is in 10th place out of 16 teams. Senior Melanie Buczko (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) posted a third-place showing in the pole vault clearing a height of 12 feet, 9 ½ inches (3.90m), which was an ECAC qualifying mark.
Also in the pole vault, senior Angie Hall (Elkton, Md./Rising Sun) placed 13th with a height of 11-3 ¾ (3.45m). In the long jump, freshman Amy Mantush (Drums, Pa./Hazleton) finished 22nd after jumping for a distance of 17-1 ½ (5.22m).
The Bucknell women's indoor track and field squad will participate in day two of the Sykes-Sabok Challenge Cup in University Park, Pa., at 11 a.m. with the women's high jump competition. The Bison will also compete in the 18th Annual Winter Classic in Gerhard Fieldhouse at 10 a.m.
